Bringing the best quality of care for all children with neurological disorders to reach their full potential

A neurologic condition is caused by a dysfunction in part of the brain or nervous system. Child neurology services treat nervous system issues. Pediatric or child neurologists are specially-trained physicians who can diagnose, guide, and treat complex conditions with physical and/or psychological symptoms. If your child has recently been diagnosed with a neurological condition, we’re here to help provide the best-customized treatments possible.

Here are some of the common neurological problems in children we specialize in:

Epilepsy
Diagnosed with epilepsy at a young age, neurodivergent kids can grow up experiencing more than a hundred seizures in their early life. Seizures occur when there is a misfiring of brain cells that may cause outward changes in behavior, abnormal movements, and loss of consciousness. We offer neurology testing including Electroencephalography (EEG) which is a test to screen for seizures or epilepsy.
Movements Disorders
These kinds of disorders are characterized by abnormal involuntary movements and can be due to brain, nerve and muscle issues. Common conditions of movement disorders occurring among children may include Tic Disorders, Tourette Syndrome, Spasticity, Dystonia, Chorea, Myoclonus, and Restless Legs Syndrome.
Headaches
Fewer than half of people with headaches are accurately diagnosed. This is no less true among kids. Headaches are types of head pain that can involve any region of the head and sometimes the neck. Unfortunately, children can also be affected by headaches and migraines which can be due to a variety of unforeseen neurological causes.
Neuromuscular Disorders
Neuromuscular disorders are acquired or inherited conditions that affect some parts of the nerve and muscular system. Neuromuscular diseases affect the function of the muscles due to problems with the nerves ,spinal cord and muscles in a child’s body. Although most neuromuscular disorders can never go away, early recognition of the disorder and treatment may slow the progression of the symptoms allowing most kids to have normal lives. Over the past few years there are new treatment options in treating disorders like Spinal muscular atrophy and Duchenne’s muscular dystrophy.
